Description of Experience: I began working in the hospitality industry over ten years ago, and have worked full time as a travel director, meeting manager, and event planner for the past five years. I regularly travel on-site for conferences, trade shows, product launches, regional meetings, and other special events. I serve as the primary liason between my client and the hotel and other vendors for all aspects of event execution. I routinely conduct pre-conference meetings to review banquet event orders, supervise all function rooms, create signage plans, manage shipping to and from the hotel/venue, and coordinate special onsite or offsite events and activities. When I am not traveling on-site, I work as a program manager for meetings and events. I develope work plans, lead conference calls, manage budget and food & beverage plans, determine internet, technical and power needs, and source and order conference materials. I also research venues for off-site events, manage tradeshows, and research site visits. I have experience in event sourcing, concession negotiation and contract review.
