We recently did an incentive program in Puerto Rico and were looking to do something different for our clients and their guests.  Sure we could have given away beach bags, towels and sunscreen, but thought that was getting a little tired…and honestly, how many bags have we given or received at past events?  While attending IMEX, we met Kelly who works for Maui Jim.  Kelly explained the fitting program Maui Jim has and we felt it was an excellent fit for our client.  The way the program has been priced designed,  it was a no brainer to include them in our proposal. Not only did it run itself, but the incentive guests had a takeaway they use daily.  In addition to the sunglasses, we had the sunglass cases and cleaning cloths branded with the company logo.  Below are some of the details of the program.

On-Site Fitting Program
There are program options and a product mix to fit every occasion and most budgets. Maui Jim Sunglass fittings can take place by the pool, on the beach, in an exhibit hall, in a hospitality suite, at a sales meeting – anywhere you want. International destinations are not an issue for Maui Jim; they have distribution in 13 countries, saving the client on the shipping costs. The On-Site Program minimum is 25.

Pricing
Pricing is based upon the number of attendees; styles are priced at a percentage off Maui Jim’s current Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), using a dollar cost averaging, which gives you a fixed per-unit price.

Custom Items Available
Minimum of 25 units each. Custom imprinted case, custom imprinted cleaning cloth and custom imprinted drawstring pouch. An EPS file is needed for a custom imprinted case, and a JPEG is needed for either the cleaning cloth or pouch. Lead time for custom items is typically 10-14 business days. Travel Expenses
Maui Jim covers all travel and incidentals (except lodging) for Maui Jim’s representatives.

Lodging
The client is responsible for lodging expenses for the Maui Jim representatives. The number of representatives sent, as well as the number of rooms and nights will depend on the number of attendees, fitting times and flight schedules. Maui Jim’s representative/s will fly in the day prior to the fitting to confirm setup and final details. They typically need 2 rooms for 2 nights for every two Maui Jim representatives. Lodging is not required for events held on Maui (Hawaii).

Shipping
The client is responsible for all shipping costs to & from the event location. You can provide them with the details, event location and number of attendees, and they will be happy to provide a shipping estimate. All US events will ship from Peoria, Illinois. International events can be shipped from one of Maui Jim’s 12 international offices.

Prescription
Included in each shipment will be Maui Jim’s RX conversion cards. For your attendees that require a prescription in their new Maui Jim’s, the provided postcard will give them step by step instructions on how to upgrade their new shades. It clearly states the additional cost is their responsibility. Most of Maui Jim’s sunglasses can be converted into prescription. However some prescriptions are outside of Maui Jim’s parameters, so the attendee will need to contact their local authorized Maui Jim optical retailer for guidance.

Lead Time
Preferably one month for Domestic events and two months for international destinations events.

Communication
During the entire event planning process Maui Jim representatives will be available to answer any questions that may arise.
